Bays Joinery began with George Molnar, as a recently qualified craftsman joiner he established his own business at age 21. Starting with a team of three including himself and operating out of an old cow shed.

Bays Joinery began with George Molnar, as a recently qualified craftsman joiner he established his own business at age 21. Starting with a team of three including himself and operating out of an old cow shed.
In 1997, Bays Joinery moved to a purpose-built factory at 4 Forests Road. During this time George transitioned from the factory floor to a full time focus on the design and development aspect of the company.

George also places a strong emphasis on training the next generation and designers, typically mentoring up to four apprentices at any given time. With the continual growth of the business Bays joinery moved again into 6 Tokomaru place, its current location.
George has grown Bays Joinery over the past 30 years and now works with a sizable team of designers, administrators, project managers, programmers and highly skilled joiners. A second design studio in Marlborough was also added alongside the existing Nelson studio.
The joinery process encompasses design, manufacturing, and installation, and the Bays Joinery team manages every aspect of the joinery process. We oversee everything, from designing the perfect solution to a complete, expert installation
Additionally, the Bays Joinery team can provide a Project Management service, overseeing other trades such as electricians, builders, and plumbers. If you need project management for your project, please don’t hesitate to inform us.
George has been in the joinery business since 1988 and gained his qualifications in 1991. George is continually inspired by the latest design concepts and advancements in the joinery industry. Clients benefit from George extensive joinery background and practical knowledge, from initial design through to production and installation. George reached the highest level in New Zealand Football playing in the National League which taught him the value of teamwork and dedication. George has transferred these skills into his daily business including building a winning team.
Brad is our amazing production manager.
Brad is a qualified joiner, starting his apprenticeship starting at Bays Joinery and working his way up into his current role using initiative and hard work.
Outside of Bays, Brad enjoys jet boating, hunting and the outdoors.
Tom has been an integral part of the Bays Joinery team for over 25 years, bringing expertise and dedication to our manufacturing and installation side of the business. As a highly skilled joiner, Tom specialises in high end projects, overseeing every stage from production to completion with precision and care. When Toms not working you will find him carving up the slopes in the winter months, mountain biking and spending time with his partner and two teenage boys.
Liz is our senior financial administrator and the backbone of the finance team at Bays Joinery. With her keen eye for detail Liz ensures that all accounts are meticulously tracked and managed, while also keeping our staff happy with timely payroll processing. Outside of Bays Joinery Liz enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, exploring the outdoors and caravanning around the countryside.
Phil is a seasoned veteran of Bays Joinery, with more than two decades of unwavering commitment to the joinery industry. As the head of our detailing team, he demonstrates an unparalleled dedication to precision in every project. Phil’s extensive practical and technical knowledge significantly enhances our team, and he’s the first point of contact for any technical queries. When he’s not fully engaged in his work, you can usually find him relaxing on a Bali beach.
With over 40 years experience in joinery and cabinetry, Bryan is a very knowledgeable person on the Bays Joinery team. His primary responsibilities include site readiness checks and ensuring top-notch quality assurance. Outside of his meticulous quality checks in joinery, you’ll often spot Bryan on the golf course, honing his skills on the green.
