‘BLACK!’ modern clean lines and a little outside the box was the clients brief on this new build. With an architecturally designed home the client wanted a kitchen that wasn’t overstated but also wasn’t the norm like every other kitchen in the street.
Their simple request was for a predominantly black kitchen with brass accents to tie in with the brass accents used throughout the home.
Another request was for the look of the kitchen to be symmetric but not to be visually cluttered with drawers and handles etc. With cathedral ceilings to both dining and lounge, a simple angle was given to the Island to give the kitchen its point of difference.
To keep the requested clean visual lines, a single finger pull detail runs the length of the kitchen with doors to cabinet fronts. To maximise the kitchens storage, internal drawers are placed to all cupboards.
It was important the kitchen didn’t overpower the space, but required 2 x fridges, 3 x ovens, and 2 x pantry’s within the design.
The client wanted to use Brass as a bold accent but didn’t want full polished brass as this would’ve been too bold. The ‘aged brass’ process was used to soften the polished brass and to add detail.
