My clients expressed their desire for a sleek and dark-toned kitchen with a seamless, streamlined appearance. They wanted to incorporate their own native timber elements to introduce a warm and tactile feel to the bar and tabletop. They specifically requested a clean, handleless style of cabinetry, opting for practical stainless-steel countertops.
To achieve this look within budget, we used a combination of Melamine board with ply edging to all doors and visible panels. The Birch plywood, finished on both sides with high-pressure laminate, featured scalloped finger-pull handles and oiled edges, which harmonized beautifully with the timber bar and tabletop.
For a consistent aesthetic, we kept the carcass material in black and utilized black Legrabox drawer runners. This choice was particularly crucial because the cut-out handles exposed the internal hardware, and by keeping everything black, we effectively concealed the inner workings.
To achieve a minimalistic and harmonious balance between the bold black and warm timber accents, we installed 40mm stainless steel countertops, ensuring both an easy-to-maintain and practical surface.
